Don't Shush Me
Here are some things I've been wishing I knew everything about, inside and out:
- puppet.
it's configuration management software, written in ruby. There's a mailing list.
- ZFS.
a file system. like so many Sun-born technologies, the technology isn't in question, just whether it'll catch on and be worth making a part of your life. - Solaris Containers and Zones. (AJAX, Sun. Sun, AJAX. Have you met?)
A Sun virtualization approach.
- subversion toys.
Today I read on the ruby on rail weblog that there's this nice GUI subversion browser. which of course i need, but can't really deal with right now.
Here are some questions I've been asking myself:
- What does "enterprise" mean?
- Is there ever a situation where you should buy a product that you can't fully use until a year from the time you pay for it? With computer stuff? With a car? A jacket? Anything?
